Turnover (£m): 18
RPL (£k): 209

Insurance-focused Greenwoods continued its steady expansion in 2010-2011, with revenue growing to £18m. The firm remains committed to the full spectrum of insurance disputes, advising on personal injury, construction, health and safety and automotive-related matters.

In the past financial year the firm concentrated on growing organically its Bristol and Manchester offices in particular. The firm also has presences in London and Milton Keynes. A new Southampton office, consisting of an insurance team from Clarke Willmott, joined Greenwoods in May 2011, which should add substantially to the firm’s capabilities and revenue in the current financial year.

With 20 partners last year, revenue per partner was a solid £900,000, while revenue per lawyer sat at around £209,000. The number of qualified lawyers at the firm rose
by a fifth between 2009-10 and 2010-11, from 71 to 86.
