Howes Percival

Turnover (£m): 17.3
RPL (£k): 199

Howes Percival’s 2010-11 was marked by the bedding in of its new private client team, headed by Harvey Ingram hire Jane Cowley. Cowley’s appointment led to the creation of 10 new jobs in the Midlands’ firm’s Leicester office with a handful of junior hires.

Howes Percival also integrated its new London office, which is led by former Blake Lapthorn partner Nick Oliver, who is supported in the capital by just a single assistant solicitor.

Otherwise the firm’s headcount remained fairly stable, with turnover dipping by 3 per cent to £17.3m, continuing a slow downward trend at Howes Percival, which like many regional firms has found the going tough since 2007-08. Back then revenue was above £21m and the firm was in the UK top 100.

Further diversification is on the cards, with the hire of a three-strong planning team from Eversheds led by partner Trevor Ivory among key developments.
