Following a year of belt-tightening in 2009-10 that wiped £800,000 from the firm’s ­overheads, Moore Blatch has seen turnover take an upward trend.

At the latest year-end turnover was up by 13.9 per cent, from £15.1m to £17.2m. This compares with a 12 per cent hike the previous year, from £13.5m to £15.1m. Net profit was posted at £2.1m, with the firm’s nine equity partners taking home an average profit of £199,000 on an equity spread that spans £195,000-£234,000.

Litigation and personal injury (PI) are the firm’s largest areas, with Moore Blatch’s seven litigation partners contributing around a ­quarter of the firm’s revenue. PI and clinical negligence, where there are five partners, ­contributed around 41 per cent, the equivalent of £7m.

Clients of the firm include Provident ­Insurance, Aviva and Capita.
