Harvey Ingram

Turnover (£m): 14.2
RPL (£k): 110

In January 2011 Harvey Ingram and Borneos merged, creating a full-service firm based at five sites spanning the Midlands and Home Counties. The merger and the incorporation of different equity systems makes it difficult to compare accurately the financial figures.

The investment affected net profit at Harvey Ingram, which dropped from £3.4m to £2.6m. The equity partner headcount increased from 16 to 31, which knocked average profit per equity partner from £141,000 to £83,000. Total staff headcount increased from 261 to 371.

Harvey Ingram operates an equity structure comprised of full-equity, part-equity and fixed-share partners. The part-equity component was introduced during 2010-11 in an effort to move in and out of equity without members encountering massive shocks to the system.

The firm boosted its family offering with the hire of Andrew Breakwell from Clarke Willmott, while partner Simon Vaile was added to the trusts and probate practice from George Green.
