ASB Law’s turnover increased fractionally, from £11.8m in 2009-10 to £12m last year. Managing partner Andrew Clinton attributes this to investment in key practice areas. Growth in the firm’s aviation group doubled compared with 2009-10, while performance also improved in travel, charities and legal services for so-called ’vulnerable’ people, including those who are unable to make financial decisions unaided.
ASB’s litigation practice grew significantly, generating 26 per cent of overall turnover compared with 17 per cent in the previous year.
Despite these impressive performances, last year’s turnover is still quite a way off 2008-09’s £14.7m. In a bid to push the numbers upwards, Clinton said the firm is rolling out a new strategy designed around four pillars: market-driven; relationship-driven; lean thinking; and people engagement.
Overall staff headcount decreased from 174 in 2009-10 to 144.
