EMW’s turnover grew by 8.2 per cent to £9.1m in 2010-11, up from £8.4m in 2009-10. The figure marks a return to growth for the firm after revenue had dropped by 18.4 per cent in the previous financial year, down from £10.3m. Profit at the firm was £2.3m, while average profit per equity partner stood at £159,000.
Corporate work no longer accounts for the majority of EMW’s turnover, dropping from 40 per cent to 28 per cent of total revenue. Property is now the firm’s biggest earner, making up 41 per cent of the headline figure, up from 29 per cent in 2009-10.
In May 2010 EMW entered into a non-exclusive arrangement with German firm Buse Heberer Fromm, with the latter using EMW’s London office as a base from which to practise.
